"What could possibly go wrong?"
— Timmy's catchphrase

Timothy "Timmy" Tiberius Turner (Born March 21, 1992) is a ten year old boy who is the main protagonist of "The Fairly OddParents", alongside his fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. He's described by the show's theme song as "an average kid that no one understands." Timmy's parents, known as Mom and Dad, are neglectful of him and sometimes leave him under the care of his sadistic babysitter, Mina Loveberry. Timmy was then given two magical fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, and then later on a fairy godbrother, Poof, whom he wished for.

Personality[]

Boring conversation. Can't focus.
―Timmy Turner

Throughout the series, Timmy is defined as proud, selfish and arrogant. However, he makes up for it by being extremely witty and clever. He is also truly brave and heroic proving to be rather caring and loving. Unlike his friends who are quite comfortable with being unpopular, Timmy desperately tries being cool in high hopes that he will win Trixie over. Once he and Trixie shared a kiss before Timmy was sucked into the Darkness. Later on, Timmy and Trixie try to kiss again but are interrupted each time by several different characters. Wishology He also has a very short attention span and constantly gets F's (a habit from Mr. Crocker)(Also a D & an A+, A & another A+ Ribbon when he cheated in the Science Fair), his common grade despite being above average. This may hint that Timmy may suffer from Attention Deflict Hyperactivity Disorder (see Trivia). He is always looking for the easy way out and despite acknowledging Cosmo as a complete idiot usually takes his wish ideas over Wanda's which involve more effort on his part and less excitement. He's one of the few TV show characters to meet his future self. He is very bad at riding motorcycles as seen in Wishology, but that is because he does not have a license to do that yet.

Timmy Turner

Timmy is sometimes shown to be mean and callous to other characters, sometimes his own friends, and particularly Vicky's little sister Tootie, though he has usually made up to them whenever going too far. His tendency to be selfish was highlighted in the television special "Fairy Idol", where a Timmy-clone drove Cosmo and Wanda away by ungratefully using their magic and overworking them as part of Norm's plan to get revenge on Timmy. Even after learning about the ruse, Cosmo and Wanda were reluctant to return to Timmy because of his behavior, but did so anyway when they saw how much he cared for them.

After season 5, specifically, after Poof's birth, Timmy started having nervous ticks whenever he got was surprised by some unfortunate event, such as constantly losing Poof. These ticks are remarkably similar to Crocker's ticks whenever he says "fairy godparents", although less scandalous, mumbling "gah's" and "duh's" while making many facial expressions of astonishment.

In "Sleep Spells", it is revealed he is aware of this through him having issues with Wanda and taking over for her one day. This is further insinuated when he is made acting king in the television movie, "Divide and Conquer", during which he does not know what to do and constantly turns to others for advice. After discovering he is not a true godchild member of the Fairywinke-Cosma family in "Fairy Trap", Timmy begins to doubt his place as royalty. Because of these reasons, he ultimately feels compelled to return the royal magic wand to Eclipsa at the end of "Divide and Conquer".

As the series progresses, Timmy becomes less prone to resorting to magic to fix a situation, and he shows a willingness to become stronger and more serious and not run away from his problems, despite this sometimes resulting in him underestimating his enemies. After Toffee's defeat, he decides to focus on becoming a better godchild and starts to act more serious, mature, and responsible as a result. He also hopes to bridge the relationship gap between fairies and monsters, wanting the prolonged discrimination between them to end one day.

In season 19, Timmy demonstrates determination through him relentlessly searching for his missing godmother all the while helping Eclipsa be accepted as queen over a period of several months. However, all of this puts a noticeable strain on him. After season 19, after the events of the television movie, "Doop-Doop", Timmy cites he is tired of all the politics and returns to his original personality.

As of the television movie, The Fairly OddFamily War!, after Wanda's use of a magically-created army backfires horribly, Timmy outright hates magic, believing it only causes problems and that those who use it are "idiots". He even believes magic to be the cause of all of Earth and Fairy World's problems and that destroying it will solve everything.

Weaknesses[]

Timmy's weaknesses are St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses, bare feet, oranges, clowns, man eggs, his dad's butt (Also known as "Full Moon") and being allergic to sauerkraut.

Relationships[]

It'll be our little secret... of LOOOOOOVE!
―Timmy Turner, Boy Toy

Being the main character and protagonist of the show, Timmy has a variety of relationships toward other characters, ranging from love, hatred, to complete fear. He has made many friends and enemies, mostly enemies, throughout the course of the show. Timmy also has a number of love interests, although the most popular ones are Tootie and Trixie, a relationship that has been compared to the Archie comics and the Betty and Veronica rivalry. Interestingly there is also a Veronica on The Fairly OddParents who looks more like Betty but her secret crush on Timmy is only touched upon in one episode. Timmy has lost friends before due to his selfish behavior, although eventually he reclaimed them at the end of the episode by apologizing and he has made up for it, which has made his selfishness long gone.
